Want to have a spiritual experience like you read about in books or they talk about on Oprah? Tune yourself to sidereal time. So what is sidereal time? Sidereal time is time reckoned from the motion of the earth (or a planet) relative to the distant stars (rather than with respect to the sun). Earth makes one rotation around its axis in a sidereal day; during that time it moves a short distance (about 1°) along its orbit around the Sun. This 1 degree difference is how our solar day differs from a sidereal day. We experience exactly 24 hours (of solar time). But because of the Earth’s revolution, a solar day is slightly longer than a sidereal day. Over time, this means that noon in Earth time could be midnight in sidereal time.
But why does this matter? It matters because scientists have shown that a particular time of day in sidereal time is about 400 times more likely for a human to have a spiritual experience than other times.
About 20 years ago, James P. Spottiswoode at the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory, Palo Alto, CA published his results in The Journal of Scientific Exploration. They showed conclusively that there is an apparent association between subject’s success in psychic ability experiments like ESP and a particular time of day in sidereal time. The time to look for is 13:30 LST or local sidereal time.
