In The Now There Is Always Hope

Where do we go in our minds when things seem hopeless?  I’ve asked myself that question a lot lately.  And what I came up with is this:  what are the things I can do NOW to help myself?

What do I need?   What am I going to do next?

Then it came to me:  the two things I can do to triumph over hopelessness are to 1)  smile, and 2) breathe.

When I am smiling and breathing it’s impossible to feel hopeless.  Because smiling and breathing can only be done in the present moment now, and hopelessness doesn’t live in the Now.  Its opposite lives there: In the Now there is always hope.
